The Multi-Disciplinary Advantage to Dependency and Domestic Mediation
Most mediators are lawyers. I am a JD/MSW/ MSEd, meaning I am a licensed attorney and a Licensed Master Social Worker. I don’t just mediate the legal file; I navigate the social and emotional "human systems" that often stall a case. My work is informed by Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, allowing me to de-escalate high-conflict situations that others find "un-mediatable."
During a complex dependency mediation, the Mother and Paternal Grandparents were at a total impasse due to trauma and the loss of the Father. I used reframing and reality testing to find the root goal of each party. We moved from a deadlocked conflict to a visitation plan that allowed the family to remain friendly without anyone feeling cut out.
I’ve spent a career advocating for the "especially vulnerable"—from adults with disabilities to families with intimate partner violence. I see the patterns of conflict that others miss.
I’m perfect for divorce attorneys, Guardians ad Litem, and Family Court Judges. They mention a case involving "highly sensitive dynamics" or "LGBTQ youth" where the standard legal templates aren't working.
