Holistic Divorce Mediation

When a divorce is litigated, the law focuses on equitable distribution—splitting the pieces. As a JD/MSW, I practice Future-Focused Mediation. I don't just split assets; I help clients build a parallel parenting infrastructure. We use Interest-Based Negotiation to ensure that the final agreement doesn't just divide the bank account, but actually protects the child's psychological development.

A few months ago, I worked with an inter-denominational couple who were staring at the table and refusing to speak. They were fighting over holiday schedules. One on One, I identified that the fight was actually about a fear of being erased from their kids' traditions. Once we named that fear, we were able to prioritize holidays so Mom would celebrate Easter and Dad could celebrate Diwali. We settled the entire parenting plan in 90 minutes.

I see the emotional architecture that mediators without a social work degree often ignore.

I’m perfect for divorce attorneys. Their website shows that they’re a proud member of the Amicable Divorce Network. Ask them, do they like repeat clients who come back for custody modifications or ones who come back for pre-nups?
